W-questions: who, when, which

Wer (who): used for people

• Wer bist du?Who are you?
• Wer sind Sie?Who are you? (formal)
• Wer kommt heute?Who is coming today?

Where is the subject?

• In “Wer kommt heute?”, wer is both the W-word and the subject: there is no separate subject.

Wann (when): used for time

• Wann treffen wir uns?When will we meet each other?
• Von wann bis wann hast du Zeit?From when till when do you have time?

Welch- (which) changes with the noun
