This page explains what information DeutschStart A1 (“this site”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. This site is run by Abdul Manan. If you have questions about this policy, contact funn84733@gmail.com.
Your progress — which stations you have completed, your quiz scores, your practice streak, and anything you type into the “Introducing yourself” exercise (such as a name or city) — is saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not sent to us or to any server unless you create an account (see below).
If this site offers account creation, choosing to sign up stores your email address and your lesson progress with our database provider (Supabase) so it can follow you across devices. You can use the site as a guest instead, in which case no account data is created. If you delete your account, your stored progress is deleted with it.
The speaking-practice exercises use your browser’s built-in speech recognition to check your pronunciation. When you use this feature in a browser such as Chrome or Edge, your browser sends the audio to that browser maker’s own speech-recognition service to convert it to text — this site itself does not record, store, or receive a copy of your voice. Microphone access is only requested when you tap “Say it,” and you can decline it at any time.
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance. You can learn more, and opt out of personalized advertising, at google.com/settings/ads and read more about how Google uses information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
