Say what you do during the day, in order, using erst, dann and danach.

Time adverbs: what happens first, next, after that

  • erstfirst (the first action)
  • dannthen (the next action)
  • danachafter that (an action after the previous one)

Morning and midday

  • Erst stehe ich um 7 Uhr aufFirst I get up at 7 AM
  • Dann frühstücke ich und trinke KaffeeThen I have breakfast and drink coffee
  • Danach gehe ich zur ArbeitAfter that I go to work
  • Um 12 Uhr mache ich MittagspauseAt 12 I take the lunch break
  • Nach der Pause arbeite ich weiterAfter the break I work further

Afternoon and evening

  • Um 17 Uhr mache ich FeierabendAt 5 PM I finish work
  • Abends koche ich und esse mit meiner FamilieIn the evenings I cook and eat with my family
